Who Is the Virtual Personal Assistant

PA-as-you-go has been created by Helen Byrne to incorporate her own Virtual PA Practice and to promote the services of a handful of Virtual Associates.
Prior to launching the business, Helen enjoyed a long career at the University of Manchester, starting work as a project secretary for for a Marine Resources research group. This was her first role after leaving college and, despite leaving to pursue a couple of alternative careers, she was always drawn back to her work at the University and UMIST. Throughout her career, Helen undertook a number of roles relating to the development of new and emerging science and technology issues. Many of the earlier projects were heavily sponsored by major offshore oil and gas operators such as Amoco, BP, Elf, Total, Shell and Petrobras.
Between 1997 and 2007 Helen was heavily involved in the day to day management of large multi-disciplinary research projects funded primarily by the European Commission and covering a wide range of subjects. Collaborators throughout Europe, and occasionally beyond, included universities, research institutes and major commercial organizations. She played a major part in managing the administration and assisted in monitoring the budgets associated with these projects.
This work enabled Helen to maintain an interest in European languages and cultures and to travel throughout the UK and Europe on project business.
Helen is now using the knowledge, skills and experience gained during her previous career to help build and sustain her own Virtual PA business.
